Contactless delivery: parcel lockers will be presented at Moscow Urban Forum
In Moscow the popularity of online stores is growing, the demand for contactless delivery services is also increasing. To make receiving orders as comfortable as possible, the city is developing the Moscow parcel locker project. The main advantage of such devices is within close walking distance: house residents can receive online order right at their entrance at any convenient time.
“Parcel lockers have become a trend in the development of delivery in megacities. The practice of their use in Moscow has shown that they are easy to use, and the couriers identification system guarantees their safety when installed in the entrances of houses and public places — we know exactly who delivers the order. The project does not stand still: in total, it is planned to install up to 10000 parcel lockers in the capital city. In the near future, it will be possible to obtain documents in Moscow parcel lockers that are the result of the provision of public services, which in turn will make them more accessible to residents, and interaction with the state even easier,” said Evgeny Danchikov, Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Main Control Department.
At the Moscow Urban Forum, the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of the Moscow City and the Moscow Innovation Agency, together with Main Control Department will talk in detail about the project and provide citizens with the opportunity to apply for the installation of a parcel locker in their home.
“Moscow parcel locker project helps to develop a citywide network of parcel lockers and makes it easier to deliver online orders to residents of the capital city. Since the launch of the project, more than 330 devices have been installed, including in cultural, leisure and social institutions. The number of orders received through them has reached 20000,” said Alexey Fursin, Head of the Moscow Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development.
In addition to the Moscow parcel locker project, which will be presented at Zaryadye, the venues of the Moscow Urban Forum will also host an exhibition of Moscow transport, get acquainted with expositions dedicated to healthcare and education, take part in various master classes and become part of a large-scale summer festival.
